Student Awards Program

This year will be the inaugural year of the Banff Session Student Award Program (BSSAP). The Program is a way for the Alberta Association of Architects (AAA) to assist students in attending the event by supporting their registration to the conference, including accommodation. The award recipients in 2012 will be determined by a student ideas poster competition related to the theme of this year's conference ‘Cultural Context’. Entry into this competition is free for all student members of the AAA.

The 2012 BSSAP will be awarded based on an ideas poster competition which has been developed to encourage more discussion around the theme of the upcoming Banff Session 2012. The theme is "Cultural Context". Winners of this year's BSSAP poster competition will be invited to join the membership at Banff Session 2012 with free registration, 3 night's accommodation at the Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel, participation in the invitational speaker reception, and small supplemental cash amount for travel and expenses. An approximate $1500 value. This is a free entry, closed competition limited only to registered student members of the Alberta Association of Architects.

Submission of entries before the deadline will also go to this address. This email will be monitored and responses sent from AAA administration, Eryne Sarabin, or the Professional Advisor for the competition, Shawna Cochrane.

The funds raised from the 2012 Banff Session Silent Auction will go towards the funding and sponsorship of the 2014 Banff Session Student Awards Program.
